John Rosique175 viewsThese are the toys that I had in my room in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. I only have the turntable and speakers today. I built the cabinet our of scrap 3/4" plywood. I also had a refrigerator in my room. I kept sodas for anyone willing to pay 15ยข for a soda. I did not always have it this good in Vietnam. My first three months were on an Army Base, Qui Nhon. The water was yellow and smelled bad. I had to sleep with my M16 and in a mosquito net.

Walter Imperial Medina169 viewsBorn: Sep. 23, 1946 - Texas
Died: 11 Dec 1993 - San Bernardino, CA
Misc: I knew him well. I sort of followed him after high school in a few ways. We both had '62 Chevy Impalas and we both entered the Marine Corps. He left in early 1966, I in August of '66. We got together a few times in 1968 when we both made it home. It turned out that we served in the same area. He was wounded in action while serving with one of the most decorated units in Marine Corps history. The 2nd Batalion, 4th Marine Regiment. They went where the action was and he was wounded in action during his tour. I was sorry to hear that he had been killed in a car accident after all he had been in Vietnam. The irony. John Rosique169 viewsMy room is the one that has the pushed in wall. I was standing there 30 seconds before the roof from the barracks next door blew off and hit my room. This was four weeks before I left Vietnam.

Mike Moffet165 viewsRetired from the Marine Corps in 1970 due to wounds received in Vietnam. Mike and his wife just celebrated their 32nd anniversary on May 3rd, 2006. They have 5 children, 15 living grandchildren (2 deceased), 9 great-grandchildren (#10 due 7/06). He was forced to retire due to health in 2000. Considered totally disabled by the VA. Spent his years in shift management of Slot Departments in Nevada, both Reno (where he met his wife as he was her boss) and Vegas. He was at the MGM fire in 1980. He began in this industry while attending college to work in the Crime Lab as his wounds kept him from being a sworn officer. He had more fun in gaming, so he stayed.
