Ed Mendoza was a medic who was the last one I saw at a fire base on the way to Japan where I stayed for 3 months at the 249th general hospital before reassignment to Korea's DMV..58 below 0 in the winter and 130 summers with 100% humidit. He did 2 tours, married a VN girl and was a medic there.
