Dear John, Your website has set a standard for all to emulate, but I doubt if any will succeed. Such wonderful details and organization! Thank you for reviving so many happy memories of those halcyon days at Lakewood High in the 1960's.

I retired from the Long Beach Unified School District in 1993 (after serving as teacher, activities director and counselor at Lakewood; consultant for the Regional Occupational Program; assistant principal at Wilson; and site administrator at Educational Partnership High School), and now, at 70, I'm still enjoying good health, while playing with my 3 grandchildren, traveling, playing tennis 4 days a week, gardening, reading, and watching old movies on TV.

I retired from the Naval Reserve in 1986 (after 33 years) as a Captain (0-6) in Intelligence. I served as Commanding Officer of four different Intelligence Units, and as the Reserve Intelligence Area Commander for Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona. My career with the Navy was more rewarding and interesting, professionally, than with the LBUSD.

Just got off the phone with Jim Strickland and we are wishing all our LHS64 classmates a happy 60th birthday. Jim called Rod Gaspar to wish him a happy birthday in April and Rod passed on his phone number so I could make contact.

We lost touch after the 20th Reunion in '84 and Jim didn't know that we had relocated to Orange County in '86. Now he is back in the loop and on Janice's email list to keep in contact.

Thanks to this web site, we have a great place to pass along updates and stay in touch with classmates. I sent Jim this link so I'm sure he will be checking in soon. Anyone have any messages for him?

Finally took the time to sit down and read through the "new" site. There are too many words to even begin to describe how this has turned out. What a joy! Bravo to all involved. Having missed so many reunions, it was a real pleasure to be able to contribute to our 40th. Had plans to go on the cruise, but, due to health, had to cancel.

I was retired from the Marine Corps in 1970 due to wounds received in Vietnam. My wife and I just celebrated our 32nd anniversary on May 3rd. Together, we have 5 children, 15 living grandchildren (2 deceased), 9 great-grandchildren (#10 due 7/06). To those who knew of my upcoming fatherhood in 1964, the child was given up for adoption due to the mother's parents. I was never informed until 1967. At that time, I said I would find her. In April, 2002, I did and ever since we have been father and daughter. Yes, we both honor her adoptive parents in all ways as she had a great life. Her father has passed and her mother is a dream.

I was forced to retire due to health in 2000. Considered totally disabled by the VA. Spent my years in shift management of Slot Departments in Nevada, both Reno (where I met my wife as I was her boss) and Vegas (was at the MGM fire in 1980). Began in this industry while attending college to work in the Crime Lab as my wounds kept me from being a sworn officer. Had more fun in gaming, so stayed.

Everyone is welcome to email me at moffets5374@msn.com.
